Hyundai to delay new plant by 2-3 years

Korean carmaker Hyundai has said that it will not construct a new factory in India till at least two-three years as the economic slowdown and poor consumer sentiment have dented sales and depressed future market forecast. The company’s “current capacity is sufficient” to meet its domestic and export demand, and thus plans for any major expansion will not happen immediately, Hyundai Motor India MD & CEO S S Kim said.
